Relax

The other day somebody came up to me and told me the best...Wait most timely advice I think I have had in a while. I have thought about it for the past few days. It wasn't Home Improvement Wilson kind of advice but more like a common advice but it struck a chord. I was sitting at work thinking about all the work ahead of me in the day and a guy comes up and says, "you ok?" I quickly responded, "yeah, I'm just thinking about all the things I have to do today and how little time I have." He looks at me and with this Matthew McConaughey smile says, "Hey forget it. Don't let life bring you down. Keep your head up." I told the guy thanks and never forgot what he had said. I mean he was right on with forgetting about it. I should not stress about little things right now and let things come to me. I quickly realized that I have been stressing to much lately on things I could not control. Girls, work, school, future plans, rebuilding, parents, seeing friends, etc. has stress me too much and now I am going to relax, forget about it, and keep my head up.

By the way Rosa Parks died recently who was maybe the most influential women of our time. I only hope someday I could make an impact as she has to this world.

Let em go

Ok I am one of the biggest saints fan in the United States and I never give up on the team. I mean I was first row for the first ever playoff game instead of being at a old friend's wedding. I do stand behind the whistle monster who is still missing. Anyone know where he is at? Please let me know! But for Tom Benson in this time of desperation and need for normalcy to even consider moving the team is "Chicken Shit!" As Jim Hasslet would say it best. Let them move and we will keep the name and colors because good knows nothing is more intimidating than a flower on the helmet and a friend ghost as a mascot. The commissioner said he will look to the LSU games to see if New Orleans can still support a NFL franchise. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Ok let look at the fan base:
One-fourth have been displaced, one fourth have no homes, one fourth don't have enough to spend on the game, and one fourth can attend and will. So that would amount to about 26, 000 fand at LSU stadium and since we have sold over 30,000 I would consider the answer to be yes. If Benson leaves and the commissioner doesn't give us a team than the NFl would be the most incensative sons of bitches I have ever meet.
San Antionio wants the Saints well look you can have Benson but prepare yourself for this... 50 years of disappointment, a owner who doesn't care about anything but bottom line, hiring a coach that can't win, and a quaterback that can't lead a blind person across a street. Be prepared to be frustrated every game and every season for the rest of your life. Have fun and remember you wanted this. If I ever see Benson again I am pretty sure I will go to jail. Saints finish this season as the New Orleans Saints 10-6 and win the division. I'm drunk with hope!

He is no Nick Sabon

I went up to Baton Rouge this weekend to celebrate my birthday, and I was surpirsed with tickets to the LSU/Florida game. This year has been tough with up and down play of the tigers and many tigers fans have shown their disbeleif of Les Miles. On the radio, fans jump on his coaching style and say he too soft! Too soft! These are the same people who after LSU lost in 2001 to Ole Miss went on the radio and said Nick Sabon can't win the SEC and he needs to improve the defense. The constant badgering of his coaching style was getting to him and his family, but when he rose the program to unbelievable heights by winning the National Championship...He became god of LSU until he left. Before Sabon, LSU hadn't won SEC championship in 30 years and celebrated any bowl invitation. To go to the SEC championship game was only a dream season yet now fans expect to win every game. Les Miles was put into a impossible situation and to start the year 4-1 and fighting for SEC west is amazing and should be cheer and admired instead of critisized. Sabon's first year he went 3-3 and struggled to compete in SEC west and earned a Peach Bowl invitation. I know Les is playing with Sabon's players and I know he has a much of talent as USC does, but give the guy a break and lets see what his legacy will be at LSU.

Five Things

On the lighter side in New Orleans here are five things you will never hear again in New Orleans:

#5) I'll ride it out.

#4) The Saints will never leave.

#3) Why do I need flodd insurance? I live next to a pumping station.

#2) Bourban street smells horrible!

#1) It must suck to live on the West Bank.

The most importanmt thing I can pass on about NOPD is do not jump to conclusions. I have been around in New Orleans and pulled over twice in New ORleans and the police have never been nicer. This is a time when Police have been put to the limit 24 hours a day mentally, physically, and emotionally. This are also police that deal with public drunkeness everyday and especially on Mardi Gras.... my point is don't jump to conclusions.

No Nine to Five

I am finally back in New Orleans after my car got broken into, 33 hours of driving, and meeting of old friends I am finally back in New Orleans. I realize leaving that was a lot of work but I didn't realize how much work needs to be done. Every morning I wake up to the realization that I have at least eight hours of backbreaking work ahead. After work, tired and beaten, I usually get a car from a number of friends and family looking for an extra hand for work. I sometimes work all day, but I am with family. My buddy, Rob, has help out most of my family and my friends with no obligations but a kind heart. Most days I feel completly drained and depressed, but Rob will make a coment or say something to cheer me up and I get by. Days go by hour by hour and chore by chore. You work and work and work because that what people need even when your hand look like they have fought with a knive, or your back feel like someone has been beating it with a baseball bat. You go on and you work because people need you. Most people have been so drained of work and this places that my fresh face and stories of the west get them to forget about their home being flooded or their job being gone. Nothing can explain New Orleans but driving through the city and experencing it yourself. I am emotionally, physically, and mentally drained and I have only been here four days!
