The beach

Just got back from the beach and already wanting to be back. All I will say is beautiful water, lots of beer, and a beautiful scenery. I sat on my ass on the beach and drank coronas with nothing to do but relax. Now it is back to work and my final semester of college.

Final Day

Today is my final day of exams for summer classes! I have one test and a presentation tonight then I will be on my way to Florida. It is weird because I have my car packed already but I won't leave until 9 pm tonight. I bought two cases of corona's with a bag of limes and two cases of bud light. I know its illegal to cross state lines with beer bought in another state but it so much cheaper here plus I don't have to go to those weird Liquer stores next to the shopping centers. I will buy ice tomarrow. I will be back in four days so take it easy and I will have a full report of my vaction when I get back. Buffet, corona with lime, beach, gulf, women, and nothing to worry about does it get any better than that!

Id

My freshman year at LSU my buddy and I are about to go out and he tells me, " You've got id." I looked at him with a puzzled look on my face and asked, " What the fuck is Id?" He laughs and says, "don't worry you've got it. I show you tonight what I am talking about." That night we went to bar in tigertown called Fred's. As we walked in we noticed there was a lot of guys which was unusal because Fred's is always packed with girls on the weekend. In the back there was a band playing so we grab a drink and and sat in the back to see who was there. My buddy turns to me and says, "See that guy over there? He does not have Id." He was pointing a guy standing at the bar trying to buy a girl a drink. My buddy looks at me and says, "watch this." My buddy walks up to the girls says something as she recieves her drink from the guy, she picks it up and walks toward me with my buddy. He looks at me and say, "Hey Rhett meet Cindy." He leans toward me and says, " That's Id."
Id is born into everyman but not every man has the same amount of Id. Some have a lot and some have a little. It is extremely hard to gain Id, but extremely easy to lose it. Guys who have Id don't have to use pick up lines or dress extremely nice. Guys with Id don't have to throw money around, and they don't have to brag about how many girls they get. Guys who have Id get girls to attach to them. It is hard to explain what Id is but if you have it you know you do and if you lose it you know that too.
I lost it and I can tell you when I lost it too. After I moved home from Baton Rouge, but not right away it gradually went away. As the year progressed I put Id away in relationships, bad choice because three heart breaks later and two and half years pass I am back to where I started and lost the Id. a couple of weeks ago I was rejected by ex, meet two really good looking girls and didn't get a number, and meet another girl only to find out at the end of the night she had a boyfriend. This past weekend I got shot down twice, sat across from a girl who I have had a crush on since I was 16 and didn't say anything, and hook up with an Irish girl only to find out she hook up with someone else later that night. I lost Id.
Most of the time guys try to regain it but only lose it more with failed attempts. Most guys after getting their heart broken hide Id away and concentrate on other things such as school, work, or family. Some guys who lose it regain it, but most of the time lose it and never regain it.
The problem with Id? The reputation amoung women. Most women only think Id as guys just trying to get some. The guys whose main goal is to hook up don't have Id. Guys with Id are not guys bragging about who they sleep with or how many numbers they got. Guys with Id use it to meet and get girls to like them. Guys with Id don't have to chase after girls but girls gravitate toward them.
Some guys call it game and some call it confidence. What every it is? I lost it. I am going to the beach tromarrow and hopefully the trip will help me to regain Id. I had it high school and I had it in the begining of college but I have lost it toward the end of college and hope to regain it. If I don't regain it before graduation, I will have a tough time and probably need to travel to find it again.

Wally

Today is the third aniversary of Wally Pontiff's death. Most people know Wally from LSU and many New Orleans natives remember him from the playgrounds and Jesuit high school. Wally was a apart of the 2000 LSU tigers baseball team that won the College World Series. He was a freshman and expected the same result every year. But in 2001, LSU lost to it's bitter rival Tulane in New Orleans super regional. In 2002, Rice took out LSU in super regional, but this time things were different. The team was young and Rice ended up winning the College World Series. Wally being the only remaining memeber from 2000 championship team knew he was the leader now but the pros came calling. On deciding day after being drafted by A's and a chance the play in the pros (his dream), Wally turned it down and dedicated himself to the team and bringing back LSU to the College World Series. The team was still young and no real leader except Wally. A few weeks later as LSU fans dreamed of a great season and possibly a National Championship, the news came that Wally Pontiff died in his sleep. One of the sadiest days in LSU history, and no one thought of the team but only of the parents and the family. People talked for days about how the know Wally and remembered playes they saw him make. Nobody wanted to believe he was gone and nobody wanted to forget it either. That season was lead by a senior but not in person but by spirit. The team struggled with no go to guy in the lineup and bullpen struggling after Lane the friday night starter was declaired out for the season. On some friday and saturday nights the ball did treaky things in the ballpark. As the season came to a close LSU was set to host not just regional but super regional. The first since 2000 and everyone was hoping for the impossible. Their record was good but struggled throughout the season and won a lot of close games. As the tigers rolled through regionals, they got set up against Baylor for super regional at Alex Box. Everyone knew it was a special season and the team for every game paid tribute to Wally by touching his number in center field. His was their leader and as the weekend game to a close their was no doubt he lead them the CWS. That weekend the baseball did funny things such as carry out when it looked like an easy out in the outfield. Yet Baylors couldn't find the fence. Many of the players felt like he was right there helping them out. Many on the team said they never seen the baseball carry out of the park as the did that weekend. Wally did lead them back to CWS and the team with little talent, and no leader, and a beat up bullpen become one of the top eight teams in the country. Everyone knew it couldn't have been done without Wally's help. Thanks Wally for coming back and thanks for memories. Number 31 always!

Seven Days

Good Lord, I can't believe how long two weeks have been. I am almost complete school and on my way to the beach but first I have two days of school left and two days of exams left. I have three test and a presentation until water, sand, corona with lime, sunglasses, beautiful women, and sunburns. The school year is almost at an end, and next semester I will only have two classes to graduate. Oh happy day! It is so hard to get motivated to work when I am listen to Jimmy Buffet and dreaming of the beach. 8:00 pm is my presentation for an hour and at 9:00 pm I will be on the road to Florida. Seven Days!

TWO in a Row

For the second week in a row, we won at trivia on friday night. The only difference from normal winnings on friday night was that we won not being on Jeopardy. Last week my boss thought it might be a good idea to split the young guns and the older know it alls. We it back fired on Laura as we rolled for two consecutive weeks with wins. Our team name: Car RamRod and the member include Laura's Son Stephen, my best friend rob, his girlfriend Megan, my co-workers boyfriend Barry, and myself. When though we were down Barry last week we railed once again to win on the final question. The final question was name the four hurricanes shown on the screen. He gave us the dates, which really helped, and we luckily wagered 20 points and took home the trophy with a total of 100 points. It's funny how every doubted that we could win and here we are 2-0 and still undefeated. I must also say that the down fall to our team is that we always spend our winnings at the bar before we even get to enjoy them. Oh well I guess it is just more motivation to win. If you want to take on the champs bring it on friday nights at the Chateaux Pub, but we won't be there this friday so you will have to wait until the following friday. Bring it!

Two weeks

I have two weeks left of summer school. I more excited about finishing summer classes than any other class I have ever taken, but I am not excited about the work load for the next two weeks. I should have spent the past two weekends working on projects but instead I took off. I should be working right now but I am not motivated. The air condition is broken in the business building and I am sweeting like....I can't think of anything that sweets a lot. Oh, like Patrick Ewing in pregame warm ups, when in doubt I go to sports. Anyways as the days pass and I get closer to the day that I am finally done with classes, I think of only the beach, sand, water, and corona's with lime. But until then I will be slaying away at school work, and hopefully very soon.
TWO WEEKS!
