Buying Books

I know now what I want to do for the rest of my life is ripping off poor college students on books. That has to be the biggest scam in the U.S. right now, and it does not look like it will ever stop. You know what I am talking about if this has ever happen to you:

1. Go to buy a used book for a class and they tell you, "Sorry we are out of used books you will have to buy a new one that cost $130.00."

2. The college decides that the curriculm needs new books and the old edition will not be an acceptable book to use for the course.

3. You go to check out and a bank loan officer is there to explain the terms of the loan, "first three months no interest!"

4. Every book store is out of your book so you have to order them online and you have to dish out more money for shipping.

Where college students get most frustrated is when you go to sell back the book and you've had this happen to you:

1. The book you bought for $125 is not refunded to you for $25.

2. The people tell you, "oh were no using that book next semester we will give you a dollar for it."

3. You go to return the book and the date has passed on refund for books.

I am so broke from buying books that I am willing to stand at the bottom of the exit ramp with a sign that says, "Poor college student needs books to become rich."

If you feel my pain let me know.

Final Semester

As I being my final semester of college, I can only think of how much has change not only with myself but with the world. When I started college 9/11 was another day of the year. Saints just came of the best year in the history of the franchise and many people believe Aaron Brooks was the next big star of the NFL. The New England Patroits wanted to erase the memory of 5-11 season with Drew Bledsoe as quaterback. President Bush was PLACED into office. The Yankees were the team to beat. Everyone was still stunned by the death of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Tiger Woods just completed his slam and everyone thought nobody could ever beat him. Survivor was all people wanted to talk about. Stock Market starts its downfall. Napster was the biggest thing on the internet and was still free. Hillary Clinton became a senator. Last but not least I thought college was the greatest thing ever. Now it will be hard to leave college and many people close to me say I should enjoy before the real world hits, but as a friend once told me after a year out of college, "College is fun untill you envision what great things you want to accomplish." He was right but I will still will enjoy my last semester. I have learned a lot through the years and the most important thing I have learned is who my friends are and how not to take for granteed something that could be great.

McDonalds Experience

I am not one for regular stops to fast food places, but if I am in a crunch and hungry I will stop by and grab something. The other day I stop by a McDonalds close by my school to grab a quick bit to eat. Here I found out how difficult a order can become. As I drive to the speaker box here is how the exchange went:
Speaker: "Hi welcome to McDonalds can I take your order?"

Me: "Yeah can I get a cheeseburger and small fries."

Now I am not lying when I say this

Speaker: "Would you like cheese on that?"

Stunned and surprized I responded thinking she was joking

Me: "No I would not like cheese on my cheeseburger."

To my suprize after recieving my bag of food, I look inside to see a cheeseburger wrapper around a hamburger with a sticker on top that said, "Special Order No Cheese." I laughed so hard and did not know what to do that I just drove off. Maybe a hamburger order would have been too easy.

College Football

Summer is almost over which means two things bars have less people in them and college football is around the coner. As you can see next to me links is a count down to LSU football. First game is labor day weekend against North Texas. I am huge college football fan and can not wait until season starts. For those interested here is my prediction:
Pac 10 champion - USC (easy)
Big Ten champion - Ohio State
Big East champion - Louisville
Big 12 champion - Texas but watch out for Texas A&M
ACC champion - Virgina Tech but Miami is always dangerous
SEC champion West - LSU & East - Florida but overall is LSU

Some teams to watch out for Pitt, Washington, Notre Dame, and Iowa

National Championship will be USC and Ohio State but who knows LSU may get the chance it wanted two years ago!

It doesn't matter who you are a fan of, everyone is excited about college football because anyone can beat anyone and who knows who will be the next Big School to make a great run for National Championship.
Big Teams with new coaches : Washington, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida, South Carolina, Pitt, and Illinois. If I missed any let me know.

The schedules are in place, teams are filled, postitions are placed , and the openning game is around the corner!
