Oh happy day! Tulane Won!!!

This had to be one of the strngestdays of my life. I caught myself jumping for joy when my arch rival won today to advance onward to CWS. Tulane beat Rice today 9-6 but don't let the score fool you it was a lot closer. Tulane took a 2-0 lead early on but Rice's starters caught rythm and Tulane was shut down until the 8th. Meanwhile, Rice added three runs to take the lead. The 8th started with an two outs and a hit batter. Then the baseball gods smilled down on Tulane. " A gust from the Gods" as Tin Cup put it best. A ground ball a easy downplay hit the pitchers glove a fell into space. Two men on with one out, and a wild pitch later the winning run was in scoring postion. With an 0-2 count the first round draft pick of the Astros came up to plate and hit a ground ball to the pitcher, but the pitcher wasn't there and it went in between the second base and shortstop to bring in two runs. Tulane added two more before the last out. Bottom of the 8th with a three run lead and the closer was in for Tulane over right! Rice battled back with three runs in the 8th. Now here would be where LSU lost all year, but this wasn't LSU because Tulane scored three runs in the ninth and closed out the game with three straight outs in the 9th to advance to Omaha!!!!


Oregon St., Tulane, Florida, Tennessee, Baylor, Texas, Nebraska, and Arizona St. are the teams in the CWS and what makes this so sweet is once again NO CALIFORNIA TEAMS. The south dominates baseball and I would like to think Louisiana is the top state for collegiate baseball.
