And why is pink the “hot” color for men this season??

Ok, so I got an idea since so many of my friends were always telling me of ideas to write about on my blog. I decided to let them write about these ideas. My co-worker, Kim, asked me to do a guest spot on my blog. I accepted, and she had a idea fuming about pink shirts...I let her tell you.

Now I am sure there are many of you out there who will agree with me. Pink, as has been ingrained in us since we were babies, is for girls. Blue is for boys. I have seen more males dressed in pink since last summer than I‘ve cared to see. Somehow a man just does not appear "manly" to me in pink. He looks more "fairy-ish" and soft. If a man passes me by and he’s wearing a pink shirt (or in the worst case I witnessed, several young men together wearing pink panther slippers, pink shirts and pink headbands) I can’t help but automatically think he belongs on Queer as Folk. Pink is just not fashionable on men. Let me repeat – PINK IS NOT FASHIONABLE ON MEN!!!!! Wear another pastel color like yellow, peach or mint green, but please stay away from the pink family. For those of you who don’t know let me help you. This means no corals, no fuschias, no mauves, blushes or rose hues. For the brothas, no pink and white g-nikes or any shoes with pink on them. And I don’t want to see pink boxer drawers ever again! I almost fainted when I saw a boy with his pants sagging and pink drawers showing. And why do boxers even come in pink???? What were the manufacturers thinking? Is this a subtle attempt to feminize men? I would rather my man wear no underwear than to put on pink drawers. He may as well wear mine. Here is my appeal : Men rebel against the pink revolution. It is in your best interest to veto pink acceptance. Go back to tacky plaids and logo shirts and send all pink back to your sister’s and girlfriend’s closets.

Anytime I see a guy wearing pink as his primary color, I automatically think that he is a heterosexual who is so homophobic that he has to wear pink in an attempt to distance himself as far from homosexuals as he possibly can. I've heard several guys who were wearing pink at the time say stupid things like, "I'm confident enough in my own sexuality that I can wear anything I want." Unfortuately, the first insult that they say to anyone within earshot is "that's gay!" when they see something that they don't like.
